Suspensions and Hearings
Metro Detroit ASA (MDASA) leagues/agencies may submit a player/team for further suspensions to the MDASA Board if the proper right of due process is followed at the local level. If the MDASA suspension committee agrees that the proper procedures have been followed at the local level and the offense warrants a hearing, the committee will then set up a hearing for the individual/team. Individuals suspended by MDASA are ineligible for MDASA tournament play and will have their name(s) forwarded to local agencies as being suspended. Local agencies have the option to honor the suspension at the local level of league play.

ASA Releases Slow Pitch Restricted Player List
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -
The Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA), the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, announced today the 2010 Men’s Slow Pitch Restricted Player list. Players on the ASA RPL may only play Class A and any team that participates in ASA may not have more than five (5) players from the ASA RPL.

Field Owners Insurance Policy Information
The frequency of lawsuits arising out of the play of softball continues to increase each year. Statistics show that the vast majority of these lawsuits target the field owner*. Many of the suits allege: poor maintenance, negligent field design, improper installation, and failure to warn of hazards. All of these are the responsibility of the field owner. In most instances, injured participants are the parties who sue the field owner, however, injured spectators and members of the public also bring lawsuits against the field owner. More>>>
